“Everyday Heroes”
This week was VBS at Faith Lutheran.  Lots of energy exploded from this place!  Thanks to Angie Anderson and a host of volunteer leaders for implementing another fabulous VBS week.  Thanks to the parents and kids too!!  AND THANKS to the everyday heroes who visited us:
Tammi Larson from Tammi’s Wildlife Rescue & Therapy Animals,
  • Sara Christopherson, librarian from the Grantsburg Public Library,
  • Donna Chell, florist from Village Floral,
  • Renee Anderson, para-legal from Todd Anderson’s law office,
  • Jay Riewestahl, forest ranger from local DNR office,
  • Deputy Mitch Olson & K9 Tracker, from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office,
  • DJ Henderson, firefighter from the Grantsburg Fire Department.
We explained to the kids that a hero is not necessarily someone who wears a cape (they may wear an apron).  A hero may not fly through the air or leap tall buildings or be faster than a locomotive or stronger than steel.  A real hero is someone who helps other people when they are in need.
We are surrounded by heroes who help others everyday: moms and dads, teachers, nurses, doctors, pharmacists, farmers, police, mail carriers, truck drivers, cooks, secretaries, fire-fighters, custodians, mechanics, grandparents…
So…who have been heroes in your life?  Take some time to think about it and then take some time to thank them.  We live in a world that sometimes forgets the power of gratitude.  And, while you’re at it, remember that you are a hero to others whenever you show the love of Jesus to someone else.
May you have a heroic week!
     Blessings
    Pastor Mike
