“Holy Interruptions”
The idea of Holy Interruptions appears in Acts 16 (we will study Acts 16 this coming Sunday in Adult Class).
Paul thought he was continuing his mission in Asia, but God had other plans.  In verses 6-10 we read that Paul wanted to preach in the province of Asia but the Spirit would not let him.  Why would the Spirit stop Paul from preaching?  Strange?
Interruptions have happened in the lives of many famous and less famous people who have had accidents or tragedies but through it all they have seen the hand of God at work bringing healing, peace, strength and love.
Have you ever thought that you had the plan for your life figured out?  I mean, what you were going to do, who you were going to do it with, how you were even going to pay for it?  Ever had it all figured out and then something happened to change the course?
There are many things that can interrupt our plans: loss of job, loss of spouse, loss of health, rejection by school or employer, or stock market collapse.
 What then?
God has a plan for his people, his church.  Often we can’t see the beauty of God’s plan.  One author says that what we see is the back side of a beautiful tapestry. What we see is the random threads, out of order, tied off in haphazard and ugly fashion.  But on the other side is a beautiful scene.
I’m not saying that God is causing the hardships in our lives.  I know we often hold him accountable…I have.  But deep inside we believe that we are held in love by one who sees the whole picture.
So, when an interruption happens in your life, look to see how God may be using that interruption to speak to you, or to help you help others.
 Your fellow traveler…
