MISSION MINISTRY TEAM
(Oversees monies donated to missions and decides what missions
to support.)
Our mission ministry team has worked to define the scope/definition of our focus to include both global and local mission needs/efforts. Throughout last year (2015), we identified a small number of missions with which we wanted to build a solid connection. At this time those are Lutheran Partners in Global Missions, ELCA Global Missions, the Malawi Project, and the coffee project (products obtained through LWR) and our radio ministry.
We disburse funds periodically to Lutheran World Relief for disaster relief and for the Malaria Project, as well as the IMAGE Project. Locally, our money allocations were to the Salvation Army, Luther Point Bible Camp, Wild River Habitat, Halos of St. Croix Valley, the local food shelf and Interfaith Caregivers.
We are totally dependent on congregational giving and monetary gifts for funds. We are so grateful for the generosity and support that we receive. These monies are used to further God’s work and to His glory.
As we move into 2016, our hope is to expand our efforts more fully beyond money allocations to education and actual "hands on, feet on the ground" mission work. We welcome others to become part of this ministry team. If you would like to do so, please contact any of the current members. Those members are: Gail Lando, Torry Dahlberg, Kim Corbin, Dan Freeman, Csilla Graves, Joan Allaman, Bonnie Prazak and Mandi Amundson.
Here is a photo of Faith's team that golfed in the Salvation Army Golf Tournament on August 14th. Our team and a hole was sponsored by the Mission Ministry Team and the event raised between $5,000 - $6,000 to be used in Burnett and Polk Counties. Golfers were Roger Hinrichs, Bruce Teigen, Paul Kooiker and Mike Amundson.
