Pastor’s Weekly Message:  “Let Jesus show!!!”
On Sunday I’m going to retell a great story from Frederick Buechner that involves a small girl shouting “Let Jesus Show!”  Not only is it a great story, but it is the central theme for Christian discipleship.  Our main task in all that we do is to show other people who Jesus really is.  Sadly, I know a lot of people who can’t see Jesus because the church gets in the way.  They are like Gandhi who loved the teachings and the life of Jesus but was turned off to Christianity by the actions of Christians.  So, how do we get back to Jesus?  How do we center our lives on Jesus?
 I’ve got some suggestions…
- Worship regularly!  Whatever style or music or message…find a place where you can experience the Good News of Jesus Christ, and commit yourself to praising Jesus on a regular basis.  Remember however…worship is more than receiving, it is also giving.  And giving is important because it brings us closer to Jesus.
 - Pray daily!  Spend time talking and listening to Jesus.  Dedicate time every day to centering your thoughts and your spirit on Jesus.  He will fill you and help you to center in the midst of our crazy world.
 - Read God’s Word daily!  The best way to know Jesus is to hear what he has to say in scripture.
 – Take yourself off the altar!  You (and I) are not who the church should serve, and we are not who the church should sacrifice.  Jesus is our savior…not the pastor, council, synod, etc.
 So…just some thoughts for now.
 God bless you all!
Pastor Mike
